What Is Guided Imagery?
The thoughts, words and images that flow from your imagination can have very a real influence on your mind, body, emotions and spirit. Your brain is not often capable of distinguishing whether you are imaging something or actually experiencing it. You can learn to use the power of your imagination and all of your senses to produce calming, energizing or healing responses in your body. Ideally these techniques should be practiced daily to receive the full benefit or at a minimum 3 times a week. You may experience immediate relief or it may take up to several weeks of regular practice to achieve your goals. Some people are very visual and can see clearly in their mind’s eye. If your images are not as vivid do not be concerned for it is normal for imagery to vary in intensity. The important thing is to focus on as much detail as you can, utilizing all of your senses.

What Is Self-Hypnosis?
These MP3s and CDs will help you to learn this powerful technique so that you can take advantage of the mind-body connection to foster healing. Hypnosis has a long history of therapeutic use. In ancient Greece it was known as sleep healing and in the fourteenth through the mid-nineteenth centuries as “mind cure." Hypnosis is a natural state of mind we are all able to achieve and experience in everyday life such as, daydreaming, driving home on autopilot, watching a movie, practicing meditation or other relaxation techniques. What distinguishes self-hypnosis is that it involves a deliberate choice to enter this state of narrowed consciousness for a goal beyond relaxation: to focus your concentration and use suggestion to promote healing. Hypnosis, like imagery, allows you to experience your thoughts and images as real thus enabling you to strongly influence your mind, body and emotions. With self-hypnosis you are always in control, you do not completely loose awareness and are able to respond fully to your environment. Just like with daydreaming, you can decide to go on or stop at any time. All that is required is a quite environment, a comfortable relaxed position, and a focused awareness. Under these conditions you are able to achieve a deep level of concentration where you will be most receptive to the suggestions, affirmations and images you experience on these MP3s and CDs.
